The scene that inspired this painting was so unusual, that I could not pass by without artistically interpreting it: a morning rush hour on a subway - most adults were looking either sleepy or annoyed. Suddenly a group of teens "flew in" - about 12 boys and girls - one couple from that group stood out - the boy was looking at the girl with such obvious admiration and love that it almost felt like she was his muse. It seemed that she liked him too, but was a bit shy of her feelings. Other boys tried to flirt with that girl as well, but she ignored them (that is why there are no faces on my other flamingos) and there was such happiness, joy and "emotionfullness" about that scene that even other passengers forgot about their morning coffees and started to smile at the teens group - as if the never-ending fountain of the first love broke out from it's hidden well and filled even the hearts of passers by with understanding of it's power and treasure. I wish my artistic interpretation would be as powerful as the scene was, but every time I look at this painting I remember that scene... and it makes me smile…
